Internal Planked Oak Doors

PlankedĀ Oak Doors

Planked oak doors are a great addition to barn conversions, older properties and listed buildings. More modern homes requiring a cottage feel would also benefit from these doors. They add character to your home and a rustic charm rarely seen in more modern type doors.

Depending on your view, the following 2 types of planked doors are available.

Ledged Only or Ledged & Braced Doors

This type of door can be described as having 3 horizontal ledges on the reverse of the door or the traditional ‘Z’ design with diagonal braces.

In olden days the diagonal braces were there to stop the door from sagging although todays modern methods of construction mean these braces are purely a cosmetic addition.

All your oak doors would be made to order and offer other features such as 4 ledges instead of 3 and door blocks for blackened ironmongery.
