Richard Penny will be running the Great North Run on the 11th September 2016 and raising money for ‘The Friends of Alfie Martin’.
The charity was founded in 2002 to improve the provision for transportation of critically ill babies throughout the Yorkshire area.
Richard will be posting regular blogs regarding his training over the coming months and would be grateful to anyone wishing to donate.
He is accustomed to running, but it tends to only happen on one of three occasions:
- When he is feeling unfit and has the need to ‘get of the couch’
- When a friend nominates him to compete in a 10km race, triathlon or otherwise.
- When a company meeting discusses the need to help raise money for a charity.
The following blogs are just his thoughts and a description of how the training will develop over the next 11 weeks.
But, come rain or shine, he has a personal goal to beat 1 hour 40 minutes.
